About

The Private Defenders of California, Inc.

A person accused of a crime has many difficult choices to make. Prosecutors have the resources no individual attorney can match. At their disposal, Prosecutors have their own investigators, expert witnesses, the California Highway Patrol, the Police Department, the Sheriff's Department, the Department of Motor Vehicles Driver Safety Offices, the Attorney General's Office, and many other public agencies. Government prosecutors can employ virtually any resource they require to fight a case.

A private person accused of a crime has nothing but his or her own hard-earned savings to mount a defense. Vast difference in resources places the accused person at a significant disadvantage against the State.  Only the wisest use of your resources has the potential to level the field. Experience has shown that hiring counsel as early as possible in the legal process is the wisest choice an accused person can make.

The Private Defenders is a group of privately retained California criminal defense attorneys dedicated to serving people accused of a crime.  Our member attorneys work hard to level the playing field between the prosecution and the defense by utilizing an extensive, supportive network of private criminal defense attorneys to share experiences, develop defense strategies, obtain opinions of attorneys with particular areas of expertise, and by the sharing of resources, to better serve our clients.

When you retain an attorney who is a member of the California Private Defenders, you know you are receiving the resources of an entire network of attorneys committed to the defense of the criminally accused.
