Hooman Kazemi

Hooman Kazemi serves as a Deputy Pubic Defender with the LA Public Defender's Office. In recognition of his outstanding trial record in 2009, Mr. Kazemi was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by The Private Defenders, Inc., a non-profit California criminal defense bar association.

Mr. Kazemi is also a Faculty Lecturer with the University of Southern California, a position he has held since 2007. He has been a coach of the undergraduate competitive trial advocacy team since 2004 and currently co-teaches "Trial Advocacy: Theory and Practice".

Mr. Kazemi earned his law degree from Loyola Law School. At Loyola, he was a member of the nationally ranked Byrne Trial Advocacy team and participated in the Williams Civil Rights Litigation Clinic. He earned First Honors in Franchise Law, Trial Advocacy, and Advanced Trial Advocacy. Mr. Kazemi earned his undergraduate degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California, where he was a member of the undergraduate trial advocacy team and recipient of the Freeman Foundation Explore East Asia scholarship and Alumni Achievement Award.
